Düsseldorf, August 10, 2023 – TX Logistik AG, a company of the Mercitalia Group, in which the logistics activities of the Italian state railroad FS Italiane Group are bundled, acquires Exploris Deutschland Holding GmbH, Hamburg, and thus becomes the second largest rail transport company in Germany.
The companies of Exploris Deutschland Holding GmbH also include Via Cargo, HSL Logistik and Delta Rail, which are active in rail freight transportation in eight European countries. The company currently operates around 240 trains per week for the transportation of steel, gypsum, agricultural products, automobiles, construction machinery and mineral oil products for numerous industrial and logistics customers. With the Exploris takeover, the number of employees at TX Logistik will increase by 500 to a total of 1,200. In future, the fleet will consist of 91 TX locomotives and 75 from Exploris. Turnover will also grow and could exceed 500 million euros.
The takeover is still subject to the approval of the supervisory authorities.
