On the occasion of the ceremonial opening of the representative office of the Katowice Chamber of Industry and Commerce (RIG Katowice) in Germany , based at TIGGES in Düsseldorf, we had the great pleasure this week of welcoming outstanding guests and experiencing inspiring words of welcome from representatives from politics and business. The evening reception hosted by TIGGES together with NRW.Global Business and Regionalna Izba Gospodarcza w Katowicach was an impressive testimony to the close economic cooperation between North Rhine-Westphalia and Silesia.
The opening began with a warm welcome from TIGGES partner Dr. Dominik Wagner, LL.M., EMBA, who was appointed by RIG as its official representative in Germany, followed by inspiring speeches from:
- Paul Höller, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, who emphasized the importance of economic cooperation for both regions.
- Anita Mikołajczak, representative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Cologne, who emphasized the historical and cultural links between NRW and Silesia.
- Felix Neugart, Managing Director of NRW.Global Business, who drew attention to the immense economic strength and innovative power of the Silesia region and the great potential of NRW as a partner region.
- Tomasz Zjawiony, President of RIG Katowice, who outlined the prospects and opportunities for future cooperation between the two regions.
The symbolic moment of the opening was crowned by the ceremonial signing of the official appointment documents and the presentation of the representative shield – a strong sign of the partnership between NRW and Silesia.
The official part of the event concluded with a keynote speech by Marlena Miąsko, who provided valuable insights into the economic potential of the Silesia region. She also gave the members of the accompanying business delegation the opportunity to introduce themselves, impressively highlighting the enormous potential of the partnership between NRW and Silesia.
At the subsequent get-together and networking event, all guests had the opportunity to hold valuable discussions and make new contacts in a relaxed atmosphere. The evening was characterized by exciting discussions, a multitude of new ideas and great prospects for cooperation between NRW and Silesia. We look forward to many joint projects and to what the future will bring!
