Dr. Kaya Köklü included in the list of neutrals of the PMAC at the UPC

We are very pleased that TIGGES attorney Dr. Kaya Köklü has been included in the list of neutrals of the Patent Mediation and Arbitration Centre of the Unified Patent Court (PMAC) at the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

With this appointment, Dr. Kaya Köklü joins a select group of experts who can assist parties in the out-of-court settlement of patent disputes through mediation and arbitration. His inclusion in the PMAC list underlines his many years of experience in the field of intellectual property law and his recognized expertise in national and international patent law.

The Patent Mediation and Arbitration Centre was created as part of the Unified Patent Court to offer companies and patent holders efficient and practical dispute resolution options outside of traditional court proceedings. Alternative procedures are becoming increasingly important, especially for cross-border patent disputes.

The official launch of the PMAC was celebrated at the beginning of June in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The two-day conference brought together neutrals, UPC judges and colleagues from all over Europe to celebrate this important milestone for the European patent system.

We are delighted with Dr. Kaya Köklü’s appointment and wish the PMAC a good start in the alternative resolution of patent disputes.
