The two-day VDV/DVA Damage Workshop 2026 – packed with practical knowledge and technical discussions – once again demonstrated the value of an open exchange within the rail and transport industry.
The focus was on real cases of damage from the railroad and public transport environment – from machine breakage and complex liability issues to major practical damage. The joint analysis from different perspectives was particularly exciting: technology, operations, insurance and law.
We are delighted that Klaus-Peter Langenkamp and Dr. Frank Wilting from our Rail competence team were part of the program with a legal contribution. They shed light on legal pitfalls, liability issues and strategic aspects relating to the topic of limitation periods, thereby adding a legal perspective to the industry’s practical experience.
Many thanks to the organizers from the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) and DVA Deutsche Verkehrs-Assekuranz-Vermittlungs-GmbH for the excellent organization and to all the speakers for the open insights into their practical work.
We would also like to thank all participants for the exciting discussions and the collegial exchange. Formats like this show how important personal encounters and the exchange of different perspectives are.
We are already looking forward to the sequel next year!
