Last week, TIGGES – through our partner Tomasz Baron, LL.M. – was represented at a practice-oriented networking event that supported Polish IT companies entering the German market – with a special focus on North Rhine-Westphalia as a central door opener.
NRW is not only the largest economic region in Germany, it is also one of the most dynamic IT locations in Europe. The high demand for digitalization from German companies meets the excellent technological expertise of Polish software and IT service providers – a combination with considerable growth potential.
As part of the event, we examined, among other things:
- the legal and tax framework for market entry in Germany
- current market entry models (sales structures, branches, subsidiaries)
- Central contractual and liability issues when working with German clients
- how a legally compliant and risk-aware market entry can be structured from the outset
Our conclusion: Interest is high, many projects are becoming increasingly concrete – at the same time, there is a clear need for reliable structures, local networks and legal security.
A big thank you to NRW.Global Business Poland, SoDA – Software Development Association Poland and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego for their excellent cooperation in preparing the event. We would also like to thank Vanessa La Fico Guzzo, Oliver Burrak, Thomas Scheler, Przemek Mikus, Piotr Pomian-Kruszyński and Jan Ćwiek for their strong input and all participants for their open and constructive discussions.
Events like these impressively demonstrate the added value that close German-Polish cooperation offers, especially in the IT sector. We look forward to the next steps in 2026 and to supporting further Polish tech companies in their expansion to NRW.
