Last Saturday, it was time to take to the oars! Two TIGGES teams participated in the anniversary edition of “Düsseldorf at the Oars for People with Cancer” at the Medienhafen.
And even though the low water level of the Rhine this year put a damper on rowing in the harbor basin, it didn’t dampen the spirits: Without further ado, the regatta was turned into a rowing ergometer championship, and our eight rowers gave it their all, showing great team spirit and, above all, having a lot of fun.
Thank you very much for your hard work!
After all, this event is about much more than just personal bests: For ten years now, “Düsseldorf am Ruder” has been bringing people together to support the important work of the Cancer Society of North Rhine-Westphalia e.V.
A big thank you to Düsseldorf am Ruder e.V., Ruderclub Germania Düsseldorf 1904 e.V., and the many volunteers who made this special day possible. And this year, special thanks for the masterful planning and organization involved in moving the regatta from the water to land due to low water levels and holding it as a rowing ergometer championship.
We’re already looking forward to the next installment in 2027!
