Emotional conflicts on the subject of “inheriting and bequeathing” as well as complex systems in company succession repeatedly present lawyers and psychologists with special challenges. As consultants, we are aware of the need to take a holistic approach to company succession. This is one of the reasons why, together with the law firm dtb rechtsanwälte from Berlin with PROMISSUM a cooperation network with a focus on inheritance and art law advice and the associated succession planning.
As part of this cooperation, we jointly designed an issue of the magazine “Stiftung & Sponsoring” (Red Pages) on the topics of the psychology of inheritance and foundations as an instrument of corporate succession. Bertold Schmidt-Thomé from dtb rechtsanwälte and Georg Schmidt from TIGGES Rechtsanwälte shed light on the opportunities that a foundation offers for (family) businesses.
