Dr. Michael Tigges, LL.M., M.M. is a founding partner and Of counsel at the law firm. He advises medium-sized companies on stock corporation and corporate law as well as on company acquisitions and participations. A further focus of his work lies in the area of commercial lease law.
Furthermore Dr. Tigges is active in the extrajudicial conflict settlement as a mediator and state-approved conciliation body (for further information please visit www.tigges-mediation.de).
Dr. Tigges has been admitted to practise as a lawyer in Düsseldorf since 1986 and has worked since then at TIGGES Rechtsanwälte and its predecessor law firms. He studied law in Münster, where he also earned his PhD on the subject “History and development of insurance monitoring”. In the course of his postgraduate studies in “Mergers and acquisitions”, Dr. Tigges wrote his masters thesis on the subject of “Due diligence and warranty in company purchase”. Dr. Tigges completed a further postgraduate course of study in “Mediation” with a master‘s thesis on the subject of “Internal conflict resolution: When does it fall under the regime of the Mediation Act and what consequences does this have for the parties involved?”
Dr. Tigges is Chair of the Supervisory Board or Advisory Board in several companies.
As a trained mediator, he has been a member of the board of the “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Mediation e.V.” for several years.
Since 2021, Dr Michael Tigges has been a member of the board of the “DACH European Bar Association”, of which the firm is a long-standing member.
